Subnautica Update 84 on Xbox One

Posted by acedude 6 years ago

Subnautica Update 84 is now available on Xbox One. Update 84 contains all the content of the Steam version – including rocket bug fixing. Check out the Update 84 blog post to see the full change log.

We are still not ready to formally ‘release’ Subnautica on Xbox One. We have yet more work to do, particularly with regards to performance and stability. We are taking our time to ensure we release Subnautica properly.

As we work towards a 1.0 Xbox release, we will continue to release updates such as Update 84, which ensure Xbox players have all the features, bug-fixes, and gameplay that Steam players enjoy.

Subnautica Xbox One Launch Plans

Posted by acedude 6 years ago

Today is the big day for Subnautica on Steam. After five years of development, Subnautica is ready for release on PC. But what about Xbox One? We still have more work to do.

Today, at about 6.30pm PST, we are releasing an update on Xbox One that brings the Xbox version of Subnautica very, very close to the launch version on Steam. Even though Subnautica has not technically ‘launched’ on Xbox One, Xbox players still have all the latest goodies that Steam players do.

We want to take more time with the Xbox One version of Subnautica, because we don’t think performance and stability on Xbox One is up to the standards of a released title. We aren’t sure …

Subnautica Launch Livestream

Posted by acedude 6 years ago

Hi everyone! Subnautica is now only days away from launch. We couldn’t have created this game without your help, and we would be thrilled if you would join us to celebrate. On Tuesday, we’re holding a launch livestream where we can all come together and cheer Subnautica on its way.

Check out the launch livestream site to see when the stream starts in your time zone. Europeans will probably find that the stream is not at a good hour: Don’t fret, we will post the video on youtube.com/subnautica straight away.

Please note, this is not a physical party. You can’t travel to California for the launch, there won’t be any party for you to attend. The stream is being broadcast …

Just Quietly, Subnautica Has Been Updated

Posted by acedude 6 years ago

Hello divers! We just released an update to Subnautica on Steam. We’re not making a huge fuss out of it, because it doesn’t contain big showy features, and we’re trying to keep focus on the Launch Livestream.

The update does include the blood, sweat, and tears of the development team: Mountains of bug-fixes, polish tasks, minor feature enhancements, performance improvements. The kind of stuff that’s crucial for our imminent release.

This won’t be the final update before launch, the 1.0 version of Subnautica will include yet more bug fixing. However, it is the build we’re giving to press for reviews. So wish us luck!…

Tiny Update Released

Posted by acedude 6 years ago

We just released a tiny update on Steam. The only thing it contains is a fix for an animation bug that could cause players to get stuck in the Cyclops. It’s a little awkward to make a blog post with so little information in it, but that’s literally all there is! Enjoy.…

Eye Candy Update Released

Get those eyeballs ready, Subnautica has received a massive graphics overhaul. This is the Eye Candy Update: Subnautica has never looked so good.

A host of new graphics options are available in the main menu:

  • Chromatic aberration
  • Bloom
  • Lens artefacts
  • Ambient Occlusion
  • Reflections
  • Dithering
  • Motion blur

All together, these options revolutionise the way Subnautica looks. You can mix and match all the options, and adjust their intensity, to find a look that you like best.

Eye Candy isn’t just a pretty face. This update contains a disgusting quantity of bug fixes – Over 250 at last count. In particular, we think we have solved the perennial and infamous drifting lifepod problem.

Miners among you will …

Today we released a small Subnautica update on Xbox One. This update contains no new features, it is purely a performance and bug fixing update, so we won’t be making a song-and-dance about it.

This is the same update that was released on Steam a few weeks ago.

Subnautica Xbox Save/Load Hotfix

Posted by acedude 7 years ago

Good news, Xbox players! We’ve just released an update that fixes a horrible save/load bug.

Somewhat absurdly, this bug caused anyone in a UTC+N timezone, e.g. UTC+4, to have to wait N hours before they could save a game, and then N hours for every subsequent save. Max and Scott had a whale of a time tracking it down, but it is now dead.

This update contains no other changes other than the save/load bug fix. Of course, we continue to work on more updates that will contain performance improvements, content, and stability enhancements.

There may be other save/load bugs still lurking out there. Please let us know if you encounter any trouble saving and loading your progress on …
