Subnautica & Below Zero Switch 2 Update
An update for Subnautica and Below Zero on Switch 2 was just released!
The update includes several bug fixes across both games, and introduces new graphics presets so players can choose their preferred gameplay experience.
Patch Notes
Implemented Graphics Presets
Players can now select between the following presets:
- Balanced: Default shipped experience, targeting up to 60fps with shadows enabled. 1080p handheld resolution/1440p docked.
- High Framerate: Shadows disabled and reduced resolution in favour of highest possible framerate. 720p handheld resolution/1080p docked.
- High Quality: 30fps steady framerate. Shadows enabled. 1080p handheld resolution/1440p docked.
Bug Fixes
Subnautica
- Fixed terminology to use "Joy-Con 2"
- Fixed terminology on the Submit Feedback page from "Click" to "Press"
- Fixed round Multipurpose Room missing metal trim around bottom when stacked vertically
- Fixed drone camera clipping into environment if character dies while using Scanner Drone
- Fixed debug menu being incorrectly available
- Fixed saved games having incorrectly sized screenshots when switching from handheld to docked
Below Zero
- Fixed terminology to use "Joy-Con 2"
- Fixed terminology on the Submit Feedback page from "Click" to "Press"
- Restored "Highlight Interactable" accessibility option
- Fixed specular lighting for improved visual quality of surfaces
- Added Control Room “Navigate Minimap” UI navigation fixes
- Fixed incorrect environment textures in Deep Purple Vents, Lilypad Islands, Thermal Spires
- Restored missing effects: Endgame green glow visual effects, Spy Pengling glitch effect, Dizziness effect in story cutscenes
- Fixed debug menu being incorrectly available
- Fixed weather effects being present inside caves
- Fixed save/reload being required before being able to apply colours to newly created Seatruck
